The Peace Education Commission (PEC) of the International Peace Research Association is a global group that focuses on education in multiple forms. The PEC members examine and report about curriculum, instruction, educational administration, student identities and experiences, in addition to learning outcomes that pertain to peace. The PEC members present their research at the biannual conference of the International Peace Research Association. They also network for regional collaboration and comparative studies across contexts. In addition to their presentations at the conferences of the International Peace Research Association, the PEC members collaborate in grant-funded studies and publications. PEC members have benefited from support from the Foundation of the International Peace Research Association http://iprafoundation.org
The PEC founded and sponsors the Journal of Peace Education (JPE). Membership in the PEC includes a complimentary subscription to the Journal of Peace Education. To join the PEC and subscribe to the Journal of Peace Education, use the Membership page of this website.
There are two levels of membership in the PEC. The first one is an Individual Membership for one person. The other is a Sustaining Membership that sponsors another member at no cost. Sustaining Memberships proactively meet economic challenges of researchers in underdeveloped regions and students who wish to join the PEC and access the Journal of Peace Education. Wherever possible, PEC members have purchased Sustaining Memberships for inclusion of members who need that support for inclusion in the PEC.
